JOB OPPORTUNITY NOTICE
POSITION: Chief Accountant
SALARY: $45,032.00 per year
HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 40 hours per week
DESCRIPTION:
Oversee accounting and bookkeeping in Norman and Oklahoma City offices, periodic audit and analysis. Oversee daily cash account reconciliations. Maintain accounting database system. Oversee the handling of payroll procedures and provide payroll analysis. Make recurring end-of-month journal entries. Hire and train all company accountants and bookkeepers. Service wire requests: send wire confirmations.
Prepare first-of-the-month cash forecast and update it on a daily basis. Facilitate the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements of all affiliated entities, conducting financial analysis. Tax preparation and accounting audit from tax perspective. Prepare financial reports for lenders and borrowers. Quarterly reports should be prepared for minority partners.
Prospective projects to be conducted: Improve forecasting, planning and analyzing cash flows; cash forecasting (monthly, quarterly and 12 months forward) should be one of the biggest priorities: Coordinate job costing analysis with maintenance and construction department (compare with estimates, identify mis-allocations).
Improve control of important financial paperwork and systems: develop organized system of document retention and destruction; what are current best practices? (i.e., how long should we keep check stubs). Conduct additional sweep through existing documentation to distribute it between active files and archives. Increase transparency of routine accounting entries, document them in Excel in extended form. Establish set of definitive accounting databases that agree with tax returns and financial statements.
Other projects: find and implement appropriate restructuring model for off-shore business. Provide financial analysis for and coordinate mortgage refinancing project. Streamline rent collection: implement appropriate credit card and check scanning system.
Working knowledge of "Peachtree Complete Accounting", SQL, and Statistical Analysis.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: Master's in Economics (or U.S. equivalent)
